Item Description
"Carved Coastal COD" by Steven London
Medium: Wood
Size: 19" x 8"
Artist Statement:
As a maker, a desired outcome requires experimentation, failures, and successes. A flat cod was the initial idea. But it was too thin. A pine cod just wasn't right. Red oak hardwood, with technical elements, in the form of a custom image of the harbor, light tower, and fins, formed the final design.
Artist Biography:
I'm a maker. A tinkerer. I gladly avoid warranties by opening up an item to see how it ticks. Wood projects, 3D design, FDM 3-D printing, laser cutting/engraving, and electronics are my tools. Creating something from nothing or adapting it for a new purpose is the soul of a maker.
