From the series Cloud Machines, "Prototype" challenges perceptions of what is natural and what is man-made, creating a space where viewers can drift between worlds, much like clouds carried by the wind; an invitation to reflect on the future of our skies and the machines that are already shaping them.

Tirée de la série Cloud Machines, «Prototype» défie la perception de ce qui est naturel et ce qui est artificiel. L’espace ainsi créé permet de passer d’un monde à l’autre, tout comme des nuages transportés par le vent. Cette œuvre est une invitation à la méditation sur l’avenir de nos cieux et des machines qui les transforment déjà.

Joyce Westrop is an artist exploring contemporary issues with curiosity, and experimentation. Westrop received her BFA from OttawaU, and enhanced her education at the OSA. Westrop exhibits extensively, is in many collections, including the Art Bank of Canada, has received awards and grants. Joyce is represented by Galerie St-Laurent+Hill.
C’est avec curiosité et expérimentation que Joyce Westrop explore dans son œuvre les questions contemporaines. L’artiste, titulaire d’un baccalauréat en beaux-arts de l’Université d’Ottawa, a également poursuivi ses études à l’École d’art d’Ottawa. Ses œuvres, souvent exposées, se retrouvent dans de nombreuses collections, notamment celles de la Banque d’art du Conseil des arts du Canada. Elle est récipiendaire de prix et de bourses. Joyce Westrop est représentée par la Galerie St-Laurent+Hill.
