Item Description
Ritz Daydream IV
20” x 74"
Carolyn is a local mixed media, Southern California artist living in Laguna Niguel. Nothing inspires her more than watching the interaction of the ocean with the coastline and imagining the vibrant community of sea life beneath the surface. Since 2018, she has recycled and repurposed more than 450 surfboards and crafted numerous wood panels capturing the diverse beauty of the sea. Her goal is to bring calm into space with her contemporary coastal art style. People often ask her about her technique because of its unique, one-of-a-kind quality. After years of experimentation, she developed a style that defies trends and fully embraces creativity. By mixing her own pigments and introducing various liquids—her “secret sauce”—she creates spontaneous reactions that give each piece its own sense of movement and depth. Each result is one of a kind, ranging from surprising to breathtaking, with magic that unfolds as light passes through the surface to reveal the intricate layers beneath.
"When I think of the SURFERS HEALING team and the courage of those heading into the waves with them, I’m reminded of the powerful support that makes each journey possible. The vast ocean represents the strength of the collective, while the splash of each wave embodies the brave steps beyond comfort zones. Together, they elevate everyone involved, fostering a growth that could only be achieved through this shared adventure."

Item Special Note
PACKING & SHIPPING
Kindly note, that packing, shipping, and handling are not included - winning bidders are responsible for pick up and/or shipment of their board, including costs to package/ship. Boards can be picked up at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel or the purchaser can arrange for shipping. If shipped, we often work with a local UPS in Dana Point as the carrier. They have years of experience packaging/shipping our surfboards and do a wonderful job.
Pick up, packing, and shipping surf boards UPS Ground that are less than 7' costs approximately $500. Pick up, packing, and freighting surf boards that are more than 7' to 13' averages between $590 and $1,090. Kindly note, all surfboards longer than 7' can only be shipped by freight service. Additionally, please keep in mind the above values are only estimates and may be more or less, dependent on the board size and where it is travelling.
We strongly recommend that you inquire with our UPS Partner at (949) 248-9150 ext.0 to get a quote of how much shipping to your address will cost, as price varies due to location. If you arrange shipment with our UPS partner, we will handle the pick-up arrangement with them but will need to know your shipping address and phone number. They will be in touch directly to confirm packaging/shipment costs. The hotel does not manage this. If you prefer to use a different carrier, you will need to arrange pick up directly with the carrier from the resort and next steps.
Boards will be available for pick-up and shipping after Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Boards must be picked up no later than Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
