Joni Lohr is a freelance photographer and documentarian whose major interests are street, abandonment, architectural, and performance photography. Originally from Detroit, she lives with her husband in Boston, MA and Francestown, NH. Lohr is active in the Boston Camera Club, the Jamaica Plain Artists Association, and the Griffin Museum of Photography and the Photographic Resource Center, among others. She has photographed numerous bands, dance and theater groups throughout the Boston area, and her photographs are featured on their websites, social media pages and promotional materials. She has also documented events for local charitable organizations.
"When the Music's Over" is a photograph of the back hallway and exit doors at the abandoned Paramount Theater in Springfield, MA. When Joni's work was being juried for the 2024 "8 Visions" exhibition, juror Francine Weiss, Director of Curatorial Affairs & Chief Curator at the Newport Art Museum commented, "I appreciate the artist’s composition and color. I could see this photograph in a Museum ... it is surreal and inviting."
