Item Description
Crossroads Fund's Katie Madden cross-stitched this stunning image of the Palestinian Flag (pattern by Hibstitches). From @hibstitches Instagram:
- The black part of the flag symbolizes Tatreez, traditional Palestinian embroidery preserved and passed down through generations.
- The white part (more gray in this image) symbolizes the fishnet pattern of the keffiyeh scarf, a symbol of Palestinian identity and connection to the sea.
- The green part symbolizes the olive trees grown in Palestine that also represent Palestinians deep-rooted connection to their land.
- Lastly, the red segment is a watermelon, a symbol born as a sign of solidarity when public displays of the Palestinian flag were banned.
This package also contains a totebag and pin from Chicago Palestine Film Festival; a Take to the Streets sticker from JustSeeds, and a lovely small coffee mug from Rhymes with Twee.
