Item Description

"Roy G. Biv:" A Burst of Colorful Joy
by Annie Free
Fostering Business: Somewhere In Carmel

Meet "Roy G. Biv," a vibrant masterpiece named after the colors of the rainbow. This whimsical creation by artist Annie Free is a true delight for the eyes. With meticulous artistry, Annie has adorned her Poodle with the same vivacious palette of bright pastels, electrifying neons, and the enchanting hues of rainbows that define her watercolor, gouache, and acrylic creations.

About the Artist: Annie Free
Annie Free's artistic journey is a serendipitous tale of discovery and passion. A Monterey native, she co-founded the iconic skateboard brand "HUF" before an unexpected twist led her to explore her love for drawing at the age of 42. Since that pivotal moment, her creative spark has been unstoppable. Today, Annie stands as a self-taught painter and illustrator renowned for infusing her artwork with unbridled joy and child-like whimsy.

Born amidst the rugged beauty of the California mountains and nurtured by the sea in Monterey, Annie's art is a heartfelt homage to her deep connection with the state's unique culture and scenery. Her canvas often showcases surfers, skateboarders, yogis, free-spirited beach lovers, dogs, wild creatures, and the ever-present magic of rainbows.

When she's not weaving her artistic magic, you'll find Annie tending to her garden along the Carmel Valley River or curating her charming shop, "Somewhere In Carmel," which she co-owns with her husband, Dave.
