Description
Artist: Kristine Riddar Thayer
Kristine ?Kris? Thayer is a passionate Cape Cod artist whose lifelong creativity has finally found its fullest expression. Born and raised in Central Massachusetts, Kris devoted 25 years to fostering young minds as an elementary school teacher, where her classroom was as colorful and imaginative as the watercolor and acrylic projects she led. Always brimming with artistic curiosity, she longed to explore her own vision?but family and career kept her brushes at bay.
Today, Kris and her husband, Bob, make their home in Eastham, Massachusetts, where the ever‑changing landscapes of Cape Cod provide endless inspiration. Weekends often find her painting salt‑kissed marshes at dawn or capturing the play of light across the dunes in oil?a medium she has only recently embraced and already adores. Her adult children and their families frequently visit to watch her at work and to gather souvenirs of her latest experiments in texture and color.
Whether standing before a shimmering inlet or seated in her sunlit studio, Kris continues to learn, grow and delight in the simple wonders of nature. From graceful shorebirds at low tide to the wild roses that line her garden path, every subject reminds her that it is never too late to follow one?s creative heart.
