The Tony Jannus Distinguished Aviation Society is excited to announce our annual Awards Banquet and Silent Auction, celebrating the legacy of aviation pioneer Tony Jannus. This year, we?ll be honoring those who have made significant contributions to the world of commercial aviation while also providing scholarships for students pursuing degrees in aviation-related fields.

Dates: November 1, 2025 - November 13, 2025
Closes: 8 pm November 13, 2025
Purpose: Proceeds will support the Tony Jannus Distinguished Aviation Society, helping to fund scholarships and our high school essay contest aimed at sparking interest in aviation among young students.
This year?s auction features a range of FUN & UNIQUE items, from Exotic Vacation Getaways to Art, Zoo, Aquarium, Hotel, Airfare, Golf, Sports, Travel, Sports & Delightful Surprises, all donated to support our mission. Make Your Bid to Support Tony Jannus Distinguished Aviation Society Silent Auction!
In 1964, the Tampa and St. Petersburg Chambers of Commerce established the Tony Jannus Distinguished Aviation Society (TJDAS) in honor of Tony Jannus - a pioneer in aviation and the First Commercial Airline Pilot. Jannus launched the inaugural flight of the St. Petersburg-TampaAirboat Line on January 1, 1914. This first flight was chartered from St. Petersburg to Tampa in addition, was the first scheduled commercial airline flight in history.
The Society holds an annual awards banquet to commemorate the legacy of Tony Jannus, acknowledge individuals who have made significant contributions benefitting commercial aviation. We also provide scholarships to students pursuing degrees in fields related to commercial aviation, as well as a high school scholars award/essay contest to spur the interest of aviation in high school students The Scholars Awards Program is funded by an auction held at our annual awards gala held each winter. One hundred percent (100%) of the proceeds generated from the auction funds the scholarships. For MORE info, please reach out to tonyjannus.com!
