Make Your Bid to Support Nauset Culinary Arts Program!

Now is your chance to not only get all the great items you want, but to do it knowing you are helping support Nauset High School's Culinary Arts Program!

BACKGROUND:  WHY DO WE HOLD THIS EVENT?

The Real World Experience - Our Culinary Arts program continues to work towards creating a program that will offer our students the opportunity to work in a more commercial kitchen space as they learn about real world kitchen and food safety requirements while practicing cooking skills and techniques from around the world.  Our very exciting new kitchen space is still a couple of years away from completion and we do need to upgrade some small appliances and tools.

Health & Sustainability!  Proceeds also go towards purchasing more clean, local and organic ingredients for our students to cook with.  Part of these foods would normally come from our school garden, but we will be without that resource until construction is completed. We are anticipating some donations from our local farmer supporters, but our food costs will increase.  We have also begun a partnership with the Eastham COA, sharing some of our student creations with them and are planning at least 1 visit each semester to offer cooking tips or serve a meal

International Culinary Learning Adventures - Finally, we began a Culinary Travel program in 2017, with EF Tours to offer our students the opportunity to experience the foodways of other cultures with cooking classes, visits to farms and marketplaces and dinners with local families.  Culinary travel scholarships have helped several students with trip costs to represent Nauset at the 2017 Global Student Leadership Summit on The Future of Food in Milan, Italy & our 2019 Culinary & The Arts trip to Spain and Italy!  We had an amazing experience at our recent Culinary & Culture Grecian Odyssey trip over April break.  We were able to award 3 substantial scholarships to student travelers and defray costs for the others with proceeds from our fundraising events ? most especially this one!
